Marilyn Monroe- Thanks Meg!

So first, I want to thank Megan for getting me started on this topic. For those of you who don't know, Meg and I happen to be the 2 nuttiest Marilyn Monroe fans out there. I wanted to tell you all how I became so enamoured by her (Marilyn, not Megan!!)

It all started when I was in the 11th grade. I had Mrs. Coco for English and I adored her. One day she gave us an assignment, write a biography on someone - dead or alive. I pondered and pondered on who I should write about. I was at a loss. I confided in Mrs. Coco and asked her to give me some ideas as I couldn't think of a single person that I wanted to spend time researching.

She said to me in her sweet voice "Why don't you try Marilyn Monroe, I think you will really enjoy her story".

Ok I thought. At that point in my life I heard of her, but didn't really know her. All I knew was that she was blond and died very young.

So the research began. This was when the internet was just coming into play, and I can still remember sitting in the library on the "internet" finding any information I could on Marilyn Monroe. I became so obsessed that I even began reading books on her! Just for fun!

When I turned in my report to Mrs. Coco, I felt so proud. All my research, all the time I put into it. I was so happy about this report, and I was even happier because I discovered Marilyn Monroe. The timeless blond beauty, that the world adored.

And so the obsession began. I started to collect anything and everything Marilyn Monroe. I have an amazing collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, and I cherish all of it!

I often ask myself what would the world be like if Marilyn's life wasnt cut short? Would she still have as much of an impact today if she was alive?

Marilyn would have turned 83 on June 1st this year.

August 5th she will be dead for 46 years.

RIP

Estelle Getty
"Sophia Petrillo"

Been too long!

The last time I posted a blog was way back in June. Yes folks thats right, July is coming to a close. Do you know what that means? It means that my wedding is creeping up closer and closer and I am not freaking out! Weird isnt it? You would think that by now, I would be a psycho bridezilla who only talks about her wedding and doesnt let anyone else speak. To be quite honest with you, I get annoyed when people ask me about my wedding. Is that bad? Its the same stupid question every day..."So you ready for the big day?" Well dummy what the heck do you think!? That I am not prepared for something that I have been planning for over a year? Come on, thats a dumb question. But me begin the "sweet" person I am, I play it off and just politely say "yes I am totally ready"(fake smile) "just want it to be here". And I walk away as quickly as possible! GET OUT OF THE BREAK ROOM I tell myself!! I sometimes avoid it all together because I cant deal with people asking the same stupid question. I had someone actually ask me a week ago if I got my dress!??!?!?!!! Like are you kidding me! Its a month away from my wedding day, do you really think that I dont have my dress!!! UGH. I have finally realized that I hate people, or at least stupid people. And there are an awful lot of them in my office.....

Albert or Marilyn

This is the craziest thing I've seen in a long time. You have to get out of your seat and walk away from your computer. People may think you're crazy. But it's well worth it.

When you look at this picture close up, you see Albert Einstein, but if you stand about fifteen feet away, the picture will become Marilyn Monroe.

T9 texting

And why the hell does the word "foot" show on first on T9 when texting, when all you are trying to text is "DONT"!! Who uses the word "foot" that often! Try it and you will be as annoyed as I am right now!

And so the stress begins

Let the stress begin. With 79 days left till the wedding its all starting to get to me. I have, as most would say, been a very calm bride. Not letting to much get to me. But then it happend, yesterday, like a bat out of hell. I was completey fine, at work, watching the mongrals swarm the freezer for the ice cream that just arrived, when all the sudden, I lost it. Crying like a baby. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME. As soon as I get to my parents, its starts again. Waterfalls shooting out of my eyes! WTF!!! This is not me, I will not get stressed! Its something about the word "wedding" that makes EVERY bride stress, those who say "I didnt stress over my wedding" are freaking liars! I dont care if you are freaking JLO, and have a million people doing things for you, if you are a bride you will stress!! FAVORS, INVITATIONS, REHEARSAL DINNER, FAVORS, GUEST LIST! It will all make you stress!!!!!!! And to top things off I have to be at work every day and deal with 220 kids who get excited when the ice cream man arrives, literally pushing him out of the way as he stocks the freezer!!! For those of you who dont realize the 220 kids I am talking about are actually my fellow employees! What will become of me....

Rules when doing #2 in the bathroom at work

So nothing is worse then when you are running into the bathroom to go # 1 and when you open the stall door there awaits a suprise...a little leftover from the person before you. Now i dont know about most people but I find it repulsive going #1 over someone else's left overs. What is something accidentially splashes up! What if you fall in the toilet? Oh the thoughts that run thru your mind. Why Why Why dont people know the double flush rule!! If you are going #2, which we all do, please make sure you flush twice so nothing is left over. I dont think this is asking too much, just a simple courtsey flush or two.
